As you know, one of my ABC’s of Good Health is that Farmers are your friends! As a born and raised city girl, country life did not come naturally to me. But connecting to the natural world and the food we eat through the people that toil (and yes, I mean toil – farming is hard work!) brings an understanding, as well as an appreciation, of how to build health and longevity from the inside out.
I recently had the pleasure of helping out on an amazing organic farm owned by my friends Lorraine and Lori in beautiful Prince Edward County in Ontario. Thyme Again Gardens is a working organic farm complete with vast vegetable, herb, and flower gardens, happy free range chickens, a field of sassy lambs, and an audacious llama named Gloria. It is also a tranquil oasis and the perfect place to reconnect to nature and wellness.
What could be better than a summer weekend filled with relaxation, learning and amazing health food among friends – old and new?
On Saturday July 28th and Sunday July 29th, join me for 36 hours of blissful nourishment for your body, mind and soul.
Here’s what you will experience:
• An introduction to the workings of an organic farm, including the opportunity to play in the gardens and interact with the animal residents.
• Two (2) holistic culinary classes featuring a variety of healthful recipes prepared with ingredients plucked directly from the fields – can’t get any fresher than that!
• Wellness talks and Q&A sessions for the inquisitive covering a wide variety of information to help you increase your wisdom, reduce your risk of disease, and help you take a big juicy bite out of life!
• Gentle and restorative yoga classes throughout the day in the beauty of nature, taught by the lovely and talented Ashley O.
• Time to reflect and relax – alone or in a guided group meditation.
• New friendships with people who have a shared love of eating real food, living well, and caring for the earth.
